Dan Wise--anti-Semitic attack

On July 3, 2017, I was the victim of an unprovoked anti-Semitic attack while trying to board a NYC Ferry at the pier near South Street Seaport.

This is what happened: The ferry service had only recently started and there was a lot of confusion about which was the right line to stand in. No one from the ferry service was present. The sign at the head of the line stated one destination but people in the line told me it was going somewhere else. Trying to be polite, I asked the person who was standing at the head of the line next to a sign indicating that the ferry was heading for the destination i wanted, whether he worked for the ferry service, he said he didn't work for the ferry service. I responded that he had some sense of humor, and he then called me a "dirty hymie" and slugged me so hard that I fell on my backside and my hearing aids and glasses went flying. I am 72 years old.

After the local precinct failed to investigate the incident, i was finally able to find out that New York City Police Force has a Hate Crimes Task Force, and it has commenced an investigation. But it appears that, because the assault was not properly investigated in the first instance, a tape of the incident was destroyed and the chances of ever apprehending the culprit have been compromised.
